“Beyond the traditional”

Much of the Port of Savannah’s industrial market is within a 30-mile radius of the port, but just beyond that range lie a wealth of development opportunities. In McIntosh County, a quick 50 miles down I-95 from the port, there are over 400 acres of land ready for development, with the entrance to all parcels within one mile of the interstate.  Two companies recently opened operations in or adjacent to Tidewaters Industrial Park, with another scheduled to open operations in the first quarter of 2025.

McIntosh County is within an hour’s dray of the Port of Savannah.  The mostly rural county is also less than 25 miles from the Port of Brunswick.

“Sectors ranging from logistics, OEM support, food processing, and cold storage have all shown interest,” according to Tom Draffin, President & CEO of the McIntosh County Industrial Development Authority.  “The cost of industrial park property is lower in McIntosh County than in most, if not all, other communities along I-95 in Georgia, and probably the entire Southeast from Charleston through Miami.”
