GPA Operations update for start of operations on Thursday, August 31st
In Savannah:
- Garden City terminal and Ocean Terminal will reopen gates at 0800 hrs.
In Brunswick:
- Mayor’s Point – Gates will reopen at 0700 hrs.
- Colonels Island – Gates will remain open 24/7 unless otherwise noted by Port Police.
- Bainbridge – Gates will reopen at 0700 hrs.

In Savannah:
Wednesday, August 30th
- All terminals (Garden City; Ocean Terminal) are open and working today until 1200 hrs at which time GPA gates will close for safety reasons.
- ALL inbound gates will close to inbound traffic at 1100 hrs this morning for pickup or dual moves. This includes all dray and reefer ingate transactions for Garden City Terminal and Ocean Terminal.
Thursday, August 31st Reopening plans
Garden City:
- We are planning on reopening all gates for Garden City Terminal at 0800 hrs Thursday, August 31. (Garden City Gate 4 will not reopen at 0600 hrs).
- Normal cut-off times apply for gate transactions relating to an 1800 hrs closure tomorrow, August 31.
Ocean Terminal:
- We are planning on reopening ALL gates at 0800 hrs and close at 1700 hrs.
- Normal cut-off times apply for gate transactions relating to a 1700 hrs closure.
In Brunswick:
- Colonels Island and Mayors Point are closed today, Wednesday, August 30th.
- We are planning on reopening Thursday, August 31 at 0800 hrs.

In Savannah:
- All terminals (Garden City; Ocean Terminal) are open and working today and Wednesday, August 30th.
- To help truckers, extended hours (no meal breaks) are offered today. There is also a late gate at Garden City Gate 4 until 2100 hrs Tuesday, August 29 for dry containers only.
- For safety reasons, vessel operations will be suspended Tuesday night and resume Thursday.
In Brunswick:
- Colonels Island and Mayors Point are open today, but closed Wednesday, August 30th.
- For safety reasons, vessel operations will be suspended Tuesday night and resume Thursday.

Here is additional information for late gate tonight for today, Tuesday 8/29/23 til 21:00 (GATE 4 ONLY) at Garden City Terminals ONLY. Ocean Terminal hours remain the same.
For all dry cargo:
Pick ups/ duel moves: 2000
Drop off: 2015
Reefer cut offs remain the same:
Pick ups/ duel moves: 1615
Drop offs: 1645

Port of Savannah: Based upon National Weather Service data, which forecasts sub-tropical winds for Savannah on Wednesday – Georgia Ports Authority will be open and working Wednesday, August 30. Truck gates and rail operations open and operating.
Port of Brunswick: Mayors Point will be closed Wednesday.
Vessel activity will end tonight.
More details will be shared on a regular basis.

Georgia Ports Authority is open and working today, Tuesday, August 29th.
Georgia Ports Authority is currently operating under normal conditions.
We are closely monitoring the path of Hurricane Idalia as we continue to secure our facilities and equipment, and prioritize the safety of our employees, business partners and customers’ cargo.
Late gate offered: To help our customers during their storm preparation and pre-Labor Day supply chains, we are pleased to offer extended gates for truckers today, Tuesday, August 29th until 2100 hrs for dry containers only – at GATE 4 in Garden City Terminal, Savannah.
Extended hours for truckers: We will also be open and working through the meal hour today at all our gates to help truckers move as much cargo as possible to customers.
