The Georgia Ports Police Department was proud to host the Junior Police Academy, sharing a day in the life of port police with area youth and career opportunities with law enforcement. The Georgia Ports Authority and its employees have pledged a total of $661,000 to United Way of the Coastal Empire to support its work improving the lives of individuals and families across a five-county region.

Georgia Ports employees spread holiday cheer this year, delivering Christmas gifts for 50 foster children in the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. This is the 21st year GPA employees have raised donations to make the holidays bright for Savannah-area children in need.

Georgia Ports turned pink during October, showing support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Across our departments and terminals, GPA employees wore pink to show their support for early detection and treatment, to show we are "Stronger Together."

Georgia Ports leaders and partners were out bright and early showing their gratitude for truck drivers during National Truck Driver Appreciation Week. Truck drivers entering the Port of Savannah were greeted with hot Chick-fil-A chicken biscuits, bottled water, a new safety vest and commemorative GPA koozie. It’s just one small way Georgia Ports can say “Thank You, Truck Drivers” for all they do to keep freight moving safely and efficiently on Georgia’s highways.
