The Georgia Ports Authority continues to invest in capacity and fluidity, investing $4.5 billion over the next decade to speed supply chain velocity.
The fully operational yard, Garden City Terminal West brings an additional storage capacity for 20,000 containers to better serve customers’ needs.
At Garden City Terminal West, logistics managers can adjust supply chain speed through cost-effective, long-term storage for import and export cargo.
“This new option enables importers to store containers near the docks until they are needed at distribution centers or production sites,” said GPA President and CEO Griff Lynch. “Exporters can stage containers at Garden City Terminal West well before loading to vessels.”
GCT West adds 100 acres of capacity adjacent to the docks at the Port of Savannah, serviced by 15 new electric rubber-tire gantry cranes.
With a new state-of-the-art gate providing easy access for truck drivers, Garden City Terminal West is designed for maximum efficiency and convenience — delivering creative solutions for customers.
