At the Brunswick State of the Port today, Georgia Ports Authority (GPA) Executive Director Griff Lynch detailed Fiscal Year 2018 successes, including 630,000 units of cars, trucks and tractors handled through Georgia terminals.

GPA growth hits 20 consecutive months

The GPA capped FY18 with its 20th consecutive month of positive year-over-year growth. In its busiest June ever, the Port of Savannah handled 370,725 TEUs, up 9.8 percent (33,014 TEUs) over June 2017. It was the Authority‚Äôs 18th month in a row handling more than 300,000 TEUs.

The Port of Savannah handled 3 million tons of cargo in May, an increase of 8.9 percent or 247,671 tons compared the same month a year ago. Total cargo crossing all terminals reached 3.22 million tons.

47,700 HRV, FIT and Civic vehicles cross Colonel's Island docks in FY2017

American Honda Motor Company nearly tripled its business through the Port of Brunswick in Fiscal Year 2017, adding 34,700 vehicles over the previous year. Honda's increased volumes were the result of numerous factors, including Colonel's Island's prime location, additional capacity and teamwork.
