Employees of the Georgia Ports Authority helped make the holidays a little brighter for dozens of Savannah-area children Tuesday. For the past 17 years, GPA employees have delivered wrapped gifts for youths in the care of Savannah/Chatham Court Appointed Special Advocates.

Savannah achieves 16.5 percent growth in container volumes

GPA issues call to action for development

The Georgia Ports Authority achieved its busiest month ever for containerized trade in August, handling 437,750 twenty-foot equivalent container units. At the GPA Board meeting Tuesday, Executive Director Griff Lynch reported August volumes grew by 62,000 TEUs, or 16.5 percent compared to the same month last year.

Intermodal cargo up 10.5 percent in Savannah

GPA sets July record for rail, total TEUs.

Intermodal cargo continues its powerful rise at the Georgia Ports Authority, achieving 10.5 percent growth in July. Over the past three years, the Port of Savannah has grown its rail volume by 35.4 percent, completing more than 507,000 intermodal lifts in the fiscal year that ended in June.
