The Georiga Ports Authority is partnering with Savannah Technical College and the Propeller Club - Port of Savannah to support a new scholarship. GPA Manager of Governmental Affairs Lee Beckmann presented a check with Propeller Club President Trey Thompson to Savannah Tech Vice President of Student Affairs Pete Hoffman at a recent Propeller Club meeting.

The scholarship provides funds to cover tuition and fees for students enrolled in an entry-level workforce technical certificate of credit (TCC) for Welding and Joining or Commercial Truck Driving at Savannah Technical College in Fall 2019.

To qualify for the scholarship, an applicant must have a high school diploma or GED, be enrolled in an entry-level workforce technical certificate of credit in Welding and Joining or Commercial Truck Driving, have demonstrated financial need to support gap funding to cover tuition/fees and be in good academic standing with the college.
