Calhoun, Georgia-based Halstead International celebrated the grand opening of its new national distribution center in Rincon, Ga. The Green Globes-designed facility is 150,000 square feet, and includes the latest in sustainable design.

Harlan Stone, CEO of Halstead International, and Michael Kaminsky, COO of Halstead, officiated, joined by Halstead employees and local business leaders and officials.

Effingham County Commissioner Wesley Corbitt and Georgia Ports Authority Chief Commercial Officer Cliff Pyron also spoke at the building’s dedication, followed by a ribbon cutting led by the Effingham County Chamber of Commerce.

The new facility joins Halstead’s neighboring 112,000 square-foot facility in Rincon and a 95,000 square-foot warehouse property in Calhoun, Ga. In terms of economic impact, the new building will create seven to 10 new jobs and increase property taxes to Effingham County by approximately $65,000 per year.

Expansion in Rincon gives access to an array of logistics and supply chain capabilities. The facility will improve the supply chain for the distribution of The Home Depot products that Halstead designs, manufactures and sells, which will be warehoused at the new facility.
