Safety Violation Program


Safety Violation Policy

Instated April 1, 2014

Effective April 1, 2016

The members of the Georgia Maritime Safety Council – Motor Carrier Division implemented the Safety Violation Program at our February 27, 2014 meeting.  On November 20, 2015, attending members discussed the Safety Violation Program and collectively agreed upon the following revisions for penalties associated with each violation.

 

1st Offense  Issuance of Safety Violation Notice/Complaint
  Notification sent to respective employer reporting the violation
  **Individual and Motor Carrier Management must attend a mandatory one (1) hour safety orientation.
 

The details of the orientation date will be provided in the notification to the employer.  The driver will be permitted access to the terminal until the scheduled orientation date.  If the driver and motor company representative are not present at the scheduled orientation, the driver will be suspended from the terminal until the next scheduled orientation.

  
 2nd Offense Issuance of Safety Violation Notice/Complaint
  Notification sent to respective employer reporting the violation
  Individual is banned from the terminal for 1 day
  **Individual is suspended from all GPA facilities for 1 week
  
 3rd Offense Issuance of Safety Violation Notice/Complaint
  Notification sent to respective employer reporting the violation
  Individual is banned from the terminal for 1 week
   **Individual is suspended from all GPA facilities for 1 month

 

*Each safety violation is active for one calendar year.

*The above enforcement policy applies for all active safety violations on record.

All terminal user records restart April 1, 2016
